Pragalbha Retreat Co. was founded by Padmashree C Jain and Abhilash S — a yoga teacher and an actor-artist — who share a conviction that the world needs more quiet, more depth, and more spaces to simply be.
Most of what gets called wellness is a louder version of the same thing. More content. More stimulation. More optimisation of an already overstimulated body.
We are betting on the opposite. We are betting on quiet, on long meals, on long walks, on the strange uneventfulness of three days with nothing to scroll. We are betting that this — done well, with care — is one of the most important things a person can give themselves in 2026.
Pragalbha (प्रगल्भ) is a Sanskrit word that means composed, articulate, fully present. It's what we hope you find when you leave a retreat. Not blissed-out, not transformed in any cinematic way. Just — composed. Articulate. Present.
We could fill a hundred-guest hall every weekend. We choose not to. The numbers below are the shape of the choice.
Four years, four chapters, no pivots. Just a slow widening of who we hold and where.
Padmashree C Jain and Abhilash S deepen their teaching at their Sahakar Nagar studio in Bengaluru, offering popular general classes and yoga teacher training programs to a loyal following.
Hearing our studio students' need for a true escape, we hosted our first quiet retreat—blending yoga, long meals, and plenty of space to just hang out in nature.
We designed custom slow-living retreats for founders, writers, and artists seeking to disconnect from city noise and rest without rigid schedules.
Growing into a dedicated retreat co., hosting structured but relaxed experiences across South India, while keeping our roots firmly in our Bangalore studio.
Silence is not the absence of sound. It is something a body learns to do, and unlearns when life gets loud.
We pick places that have been doing this for thousands of years — forests, coastlines, river bends. We add very little.
We cook on every retreat. From scratch. The kitchen is the second living room. Most insights have happened there.
Twelve is our ceiling. Past that, the container leaks. Eight is the number we like best.
We protect long, unscheduled afternoons. Boredom is the doorway to almost everything you came here for.
By day two, you know everyone's name. By day three, their handwriting. By day five, you've cooked together.
Pragalbha is a Sanskrit word for the quality of being thoroughly at home in oneself. Not loud. Not performative. Just — there. It is what we hope a retreat leaves with you, in small unmeasurable ways, for months after.
We don't build resorts. We rent — slowly, carefully — heritage homes, farmhouses, riverside cottages and one stone barn we are unreasonably attached to.
A seasoned yoga teacher, movement practitioner, and curator of quiet spaces. Padmashree co-runs a successful yoga studio in Sahakar Nagar, Bengaluru, guiding daily classes and teacher training programs.
Over years of teaching in the city, she realized that students needed a way to step out of their routines entirely. She believes retreats should be quiet, inviting spaces to slow down, where yoga is a natural element of the stay rather than an intense, rigid focus.
At Pragalbha Retreat Co., she designs each retreat flow to feel spacious, giving people room to breathe, rest, and simply enjoy the surroundings.
An actor, a practitioner of yoga, an artist, and an experienced traveller who lives to explore the world. Abhilash brings a rare depth to Pragalbha Retreat Co. — the kind that only comes from someone who has been many places and paid attention in all of them.
For Abhilash, yoga is not a rigid discipline but a living practice — something he carries from the studio onto film sets, across mountain trails, and through the markets of cities he visits for the first time. His artistic eye and love of movement shape the spirit of every retreat we design.
He co-founded Pragalbha Retreat Co. to create spaces where slow travel, nature, and self-discovery converge — places where guests can explore their own edges in an environment that feels supportive, unhurried, and alive.
